Mouse-Pig & Super-Fish Seek Approval for Human Consumption

“Here I come to save the daaaay! I’m not very mighty, I don’t fly (yet), but my DNA has been spliced with mouse DNA which means that my poop now has less environment-harming phosphorous. This allows me and my cohorts to continue being stacked in barns to the brim – no dietary changes necessary! Soon my mutated flesh will be a tender morsel on your plate but you won’t even know it’s me.”

Enter Enviropig! And his trusty side-kick Super Fish!

Genetically mutated plants and animals always start out as some sort of trial – “Oh we would never allow this on the dinner plate,” is always the beginning line. Blink and you’ll miss the critters crawling onto the grocers’ shelves. Most of us are unaware of our consumption of GM vegetation. The push and final release of GM salmon will be the precedent that allows Enviropig on the market. The supposed intention behind Enviropig is the environment, but that’s a giant load of steaming hog manure, otherwise the pigs themselves would be given better treatment and diets to lower phosphorous waste. Some speculate that the Corn Refiners Association is the influence behind the pigs’ mostly corn-fed diet that attributes to the highly phosphorous poo. Instead of different food and free range, the answer is to create labs, hire scientists, and mix them with mice?

“It is estimated that if just 60 genetically engineered salmon were released, the wild population of salmon could be extinct in forty generations.” The Future of Food These genetically “enhanced” animals, as the media often calls them, have no benefit for human consumption; no added nutrient value, etc. GM products were often lauded as the way to end world hunger, but world hunger has nothing to do with the unavailability of food. It has everything to do with a country’s government and that other countries cannot continue to sustain their agriculture with loans from the World Bank.

Health officials and GM research firms are pushing hard and fast for the animals’ widespread use without one iota of thought or impartial testing of the future impact on the environment, animal kingdom, and human species. We’d like to think that such an ecologic and environmental travesty would only happen when pigs fly – but it might just be sooner than you think. ~Health Freedoms

OTTAWA – The federal government is refusing to say whether it is close to approving genetically modified animals for human consumption. But if they do, you may never know it.

So far, groups have applied to get approval for fish that grow twice as fast as normal, and pigs with mice DNA spliced into them.

“For confidentiality reasons, Health Canada cannot confirm whether or not a submission has been filed or any other information related to a submission,” said Jenny Van Alstyne, spokeswoman for Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq.

This week, media reports revealed that scientists in the department of fisheries and oceans raised doubts about approving genetically modified fish over concerns the fish could escape from fish farms and mate with natural Canadian fish stock.

AquaBounty, a firm with Canadian and U.S. operations, made the application.

AquaBounty’s website claims the company is also working on developing hybrid salmon, trout and tilapia, which will also grow faster than traditional fish.

The application for a genetically modified pig comes from the University of Guelph. Called Enviropig, researchers spliced DNA from mice into Yorkshire pigs to reduce the amount of phosphorous in swine’s manure.

The researchers hope the reduced phosphorous will mean less pollution in rivers and streams near large-scale pig farms.

Under current regulations, there would be no requirement to tell the public the animals they are eating are anything other than a regular fish or pigs.

“Consumers have a right to know what they are eating,” said MP Alex Atamanenko, the NDP agriculture and food security critic.

Atamanenko called on the government to put a moratorium on all genetically modified foods, calling them a health hazard.

“I think it would be a travesty if the government would allow this to happen without letting consumers know what they are eating.

“I think it’s absurd to release a genetically modified salmon or pig into the environment,” said Atamanenko. “There¹s no way to separate a genetically modified salmon from regular salmon.”

Monsanto will, one day, control all the food produced on this planet. It will be interesting if anyone can do anything about it. No politician will do anything about it because they will own all politicians. One alternative is that synthetic food will be produced by rearranging the molecular structure of some organic material to duplicate the most common food. That is, unless Monsanto will own that process also.

This kind of tampering should be against ALL law; secular and Divine!

And then, we will all morph into some other creature as these same felons who preach anti-choice policy find no problem with altering God’s species. I continue to be amazed at the hypocrisy.

Whoa! The pro-lifers I know (lots) tend to be organic gardeners/farmers – definitely anti-tinker. Most are very well educated. If a person respects life -all life – that person is not going to play roulett with it.

I don’t think it is good to change the generic DNA of a species. It can cause cancer, deadly virus outbreak, and bizarre mutation. Let’s just eat normal food that we have already or just eat LESS.

  • Spaz says:

Muslims are not the only ones who know the abomination of consuming pig. Being neither Jewish nor Christian, I do absolutely believe in YHVH. This tampering and chimera creating is nothing short of disgusting! and wrong!

Our vitamins are becoming illegal, backyard gardening illegal, our seeds are destroyed by Monsanto, our ground and water contaminated. The only good thing that may possibly come out of this is a tiny percentage may now think twice before consuming swine flesh.

This is somebodies future 4-H and FFA project. I wonder if they
conver this on the US Farm Report. I wonder what Bakter Black

How dare they! I didn’t want to know this but now I do. Right when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, it did. I have been beaten up by farmer’s on forums. I have been beaten up by Democrats on forums. Only Maher can be mean and nasty and only those that beat me up know what’s what. If I didn’t have a child who has a right to life, I don’t know if I’d still be here. How many calls do we have to make to be heard? How many petitions signed? How many emails to those in power? I know I won’t see justice on these criminals but I hope my son lives to see it. Then he’ll know why I searched for justice.

Greed & arrogance combined are the most deadly weapon used by humans, the most destructive creeps ever to walk on this planet. I only want to know what will happen when the environment is completely destroyed, our food & water more poisonous than what already is. Will humans eat money and oil? How about the garbage the world produce without anywhere to put it? We’re running out of space to grow food because it’s all taken by cattle production which in turns produce great pollution in the world. If anyone stops to think, will see that we are in deep doodoo!!!

What does the disgusting habit (yes, habit, not necessity) of eating the flesh of animals have to do with people who do not believe in the more horrific concept of butchering infants in the womb? Thank God I am a vegetarian and also too sane to enjoy the thought of butchering human babies.

  • HankE says:

Why do the pro-lifers invest so much energy into a cluster of cells, but then are the first to want to send the children of the poor to fight in wars, or cut off funding for programs that help feed the poor? I guess after kids are born they don’t need compassion. Only the pre-birth cells do.

    Hi
I worked many years at Agricultual College or University of Guelph I was there during the change.I argued then for example that liquid manure would not work, you cannot control liquid, solids decomposed are better and when you look at systems are much cheaper.Solids break down at the spead of nature and there for are absorbed accordingly. Now you see the result. Our problem is that most people rely on universities to tell us the truth but you have to understand that university education is second hand information writen in a book by some one else.A lot of kids come from cities and have no idea about the real world no fault of theirs. My belief is every kid should have to go in the real world and work for 5 yrs then choose which way they go,bet you see different result.Hope world catches on before its to late.Monsanto is evil and should be stoped go after politians they are afraid we might oganize they would not know how to stop that power.
