Autism and Vaccines Researcher for CDC, Indicted for Fraud and Money-Laundering
Remember when the vaccine mercury/autism link was supposedly debunked? Poul Thorsen, a Danish scientist who coordinated the CDC-funded “debunking” studies, was indicted on April 13th for 13 counts of fraud and 9 counts of money-laundering. Charges relate to his work for the CDC to study correlations between thimerosal (mercury-based vaccine preservative) and the increased rates of autism, among other infant and childhood disabilities he studied. He allegedly stole around $1 million from Atlanta’s CDC autism research money. The fraud charges have to do with dozens of invoices he submitted for “expenses.” The invoices falsely claimed laboratory work from the CDC.
SafeMinds group has closely watched vaccine-autism data brought forth since 2001. SafeMinds demands long-overdue independent review of vaccine/autism research for data manipulation and conflicts of interest. Vaccine safety remains questionable.
Atlanta- Poul Thorsen, the principal coordinator of multiple studies funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) used to deny a vaccine/autism link was indicted on April 13th on 13 counts of fraud and 9 counts of money laundering. The charges relate to funding for work he conducted for the CDC, which claimed to disprove associations between the mercury-based vaccine preservative, thimerosal, and increased rates of autism.
SafeMinds first voiced concerns in 2003 regarding a series of epidemiology studies out of Denmark and under the jurisdiction of Thorsen that provided the basis for the Institute of Medicine’s claim that there was no association between thimerosal and autism. That claim has been responsible for the continued unsafe use of mercury in influenza vaccines in the United States and infant vaccines around the world.
“The quality of this epidemiological research has always been questionable,” states Sallie Bernard, SafeMinds president. “Many biological studies support a link between mercury and autism, but these Danish studies have been used to suppress further research into thimerosal. With clear evidence of Dr. Thorsen’s lack of ethics, it is imperative to reopen this investigation.”
From August to October of 2003, three articles on the autism-mercury controversy were published in close succession, all of which used data from a Danish registry for psychiatric research to assess the relationship between autism trends and the use of thimerosal. SafeMinds accessed the registry at the time and reported that a large percentage of diagnosed autism cases are lost from the Danish registry each year and that most of those lost cases were older children. Since the studies were based on finding fewer older thimerosal-exposed children than younger unexposed children, the validity of their conclusion exonerating thimerosal in autism was questionable and likely a result of missing records rather than true lower incidence rates among the exposed group.
In addition, internal emails obtained via FOIA document discussion between the Danish researchers and Thornsen which acknowledge that the studies did not include the latest data from 2001 where the incidence and prevalence of autism was declining which would be supportive of a vaccine connection.
The emails also include requests from Thornsen to CDC asking that the agency write letters to the journal Pediatrics encouraging them to publish the research after it had been rejected by other journals. A top CDC official complied with the request sending a letter to the editor of the journal supporting the publication of the study which they called a “strong piece of evidence that thimerosal is not linked to autism”.
As fraud charges regarding Thorsen surface, and as we believe the registry was unreliable, SafeMinds is calling for an independent federal investigation of these studies for data manipulation and scientific misconduct. Let’s hope and pray that more of this kind of scientific chicanery and hucksterism is exposed for all the public to see and understand. Far too much money has been made by the pharma-cartel from way too much suffering inflicted on the hapless population.
I would like to know who gave Thornsen his marching orders to begin with. If this investigatioin stops with Thornsen it is obvious many traitors in positions of authority at the Center for Disease Control are protecting themselves. Considering tax dollars are being used to promote Big Pharma at the sacrifice of children across the globe these people need to be prosecuted. This is another example of deep seeded corruption within our government as well as global governments. The trickle down effect is devastating. Yet, due to the complexity, these traitors must be seated in a very safe bubble as they have and will probably never consider the public a threat to their demise.
There is too much money to be made managing autism and ADHD to allow the truth to come out about vaccine’s role in their proliferation. I am amazed at just how corrupt the the Pharma driven medical profit machine has become. This Thomsen bozo is just a hired gun. The true bad guys are probably untouchable.
I am epileptic I became that way AFTER my 1st set of immunizations, I am opposed to vaccinations & no matter how many health care “professionals” tell me they are safe I will never believe them! When my Mom went to my Doctor & asked for help he told her I was just having a “fit”.

Iam so worried obout my grandson, 2 yrs old who is not immunized, but may not be able to get in school or else the government may make immunizations compulsory, -The land of the free.- Also I have great grandbabies who are getting their immunizations on schedule whom I also worry about. There seems to be nothing I can do to change their minds.
Look up on the internet the exemptions from vaccination permitted in your state. Try the Dr. Mercola website and anti-vaccination resources.

Most if not all states have waivers for these immunization requirements. In Oklahoma, if I remember correctly, there are three different “reasons” you can claim on the waiver form, one being religious belief. I’m a free-thinker personally, but were I faced with this dilemma, and there were no other options, I might be a Christian Scientist. Happy Easter, the Lord has risen!
I personally was “required” to take the MMR vaccine to get into junior high school, even though I’d already had it. Someone lost the records. I remember being sick afterwards. My mom was outraged they wouldn’t let me in without it, but the internet didn’t exist yet, and she didn’t know about the waiver. Of course the schools know about it, but they won’t tell you. If you can’t find it easily online, simply go to your local school office(or the main administration offices) and demand the form. When requested, they can easily produce it for you. I hope that helps.

Just in line with Dr. Mengele from Auschwitz concentration camp. There should be a Nuremberg tribunal for such criminals. Of all the autistic children around the world that I consult, all of them were vaccinated with thimerosal-preserved vaccines. How much of a link do we need?

Well, there are some Amish children who are autistic. Of course, they tend to be adopted (or fostered) into the community from the outside.
I’ve had my share of clients tell me about their child’s reaction to vaccinations and certainly mercury cannot be discounted as one of the causes of these developmental disorders. But, I suspect that the problem is much broader.
I suspect that the prevalence of all types of Developmental Disorders (including autism, ADHD, etc. .) is much more related to sensitive children having immune reactions to things in their environment with which their bodies are not designed to coexist. I suspect that the growing numbers of children with these sensitivities is related to the rising threshold of “toxic” contamination they have to live with.
Ten years ago I was talking with the headmaster of an Amish school. He didn’t know what Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder was. But, in our ‘modern’ culture all educators are drilled in how to recognize Developmental Disorders and how to insist the children go on meds.

As a pediatrician who has followed autism in general for 30+ years I can say my observations reveal the clear association between vaccines and autism. The incidence in unvaccinated children is a small fraction of that in fully vaccinated children and is likely related to maternal vaccinations(rhogam,influenza,etc) and/or dental amalgams. The 2001 Simpson Woods transcipts reveal that our AAP, and other professional organizations quietly began eliminating methyl mercury(as much as they could) from vaccines to try to limit the scope of damage to vaccinated children as well as to limit litigation. Several states require disclaimers before dental mercury use in pregnancy and ALL vaccines now require disclaimers. Stop the international coverup!!! Coal fired power plants are another huge source of the neurotoxin, Hg. Scrubbers of toxic metals from them are somewhat helpful.

I want to know whether it has been proven with all vaccines, why you can’t refuse the vaccines and what the distribution of autistic cases is in across countries, I’m coming from a perspective of a person with a 77 year old mother with Asperger’s, as well as a sister who has Asperger’s whose son has Autistic spectrum. My mother, who has 6 children, saw her grandson the day he was born and said she knew there was something up.
My sister, due to all the talk about the link has fixated on a ‘vaccine reason’ for her son’s autism due to her own Aspergers. Please stop speculating and give us some facts that can be properly backed up.
btw, I work in healthcare and understand that studying the patterns of a few dozen kids does not make hard research and neither does speculation

Vaccines were changed from being mercury based soon after this controversy began. Do some research and decide for yourself. Is Autism caused by immunization shots (specifically the MMR) ? The A.M.A, F.D.A., and the C.D.C. say no. I say be cautios and check it out.
