Hidden Dangers of Soy: Soy Product Dangers
If you have been hearing all about how excellent soy products are for you, and how much the soybean can benefit your health on so many levels, then you might be very surprised to hear that soy is not any of these things. Be aware of what soy does to your body.

The truth is that soy could even be killing you and your family, and you may not even know it. Do you know what is in soy and soy protein? Did you know that if you are experiencing unusual weight gain, bloating and / or nausea, it could all be eliminated just by removing soy products from your diet?
Today’s families are consuming soy and soy products much, much more than we ever were, all throughout history. Is it just a coincidence then, that today’s families are also seeing many more cases of obesity, thyroid problems, osteoporosis, cancer and many more diseases than our ancestors?
I bought into the soy fad just like everyone else – until I went into anaphylactic shock! I learned I was allergic to soy (deathly allergic!), and this prompted me to do some research into the subject. What I found out about soy shocked me into writing a book about it.
You may be reading this and thinking, ‘they wouldn’t have place anything on the market if it wasn’t safe – aren’t these things tested and regulated?’ Well, they are not supposed to place things in the stores that aren’t safe, but I’m worried that they are anyway! In 1966 they did a lot of research into soy and the harmful substance in the soybean. They found that there are naturally occurring compounds within the bean that are toxic to humans and animals. Soy has even been linked with breast cancer, Down syndrome and brain hurt in infants!
I guess the food manufacturers did not care about the research that was done in 1966. The soy industry makes $70 billion per year today, and whenever we buy soy and soy products we are giving them more reasons not to care!
By now you may be wondering why I keep referring to soy products; did you know that due to advances in food technology, they are now isolating soy proteins, isoflavones and other substances found in the soy bean and adding them to foods where soy does not occur naturally? The stunning truth is that nearly all processed and manufactured foods today have some form of soy in them.
This is a highly disturbing fact, especially because soy really takes away the nutrients in other foods, not allowing the body to benefit from them.
There are many claims made about soy by the soy industry. We have all heard how soy will reverse your child’s obesity, how soy contains less calories and stout, how soy will prevent cancer, and the list goes on. But, there are many hidden dangers with soy products. Keep your family safe from soy protein danger. Do not feed your children soy products. Do not give your baby soy infant formula. Remember to research claims and “health products” before serving them to your family.

As a parent of a child with Down syndrome – I can tell you from the experience of most parents, having a child with DS is not in the same category as cancer or the other outcomes you mention. For many of us, myself included, it has been a most unexpected and wonderfully positive journey. My daughter has changed me so much for the better and has opened my eyes to things I never saw before.
It is shameful to consider her extra chromosome equating her to a tumor.

This article is on par with recent fallacious national news feed about how your multi vitamins shorten your life’.
Of course there are people allergic to soy , as people can be allergic to many foods. Soy is not generally recommended as a baby food, the same way cows milk is not always recommended as a healthy baby food by those in the natural health field.
Soy is best eaten as tofu, tempe and other fermented forms of soy. Many
adults do use soy protein isolate as a protein source without difficulty.
For people reducing animal proteins in the diet,soy is an inexpensive, low fat substitute. Many vegetarians do not take the time to properly combine foods for a complete protein, and their health suffers as a consequence.While we may not need the protein of animals to be healthy, our health suffers if we do not consume adequate protein. For those who choose not to use soy, but who do consume dairy products, whey protein is a substitute for soy.
Lastly, be happy, it’s not just what you eat that makes you healthy,
the relaxed, loving atmosphere in which you eat contributes greatly
to health and wellness.

No information in this article! The least that could be added is that it is GMO and full of pesticides!
My intuition on this matter is similar to my philosophy on life, that balance and moderation are the keys to living it well. Unless you are allergic to it and or eating highly processed forms of it I severely doubt having organic soy from time to time will hurt you at all. In fact I suspect it to be a benefit. My suggestion would be to avoid the soy milk and tofu and stick to the tempeh and edamame versions as in just about all food choices the less processed the better.
The article is NOT misleading!
It is true that soy is not harmful if it is ORGANIC and FERMENTED such as MISO.
If soy is not organic and fermented it is extremely harmful to the human body. Huge numbers of people have had their health destroyed by soy.
Linda Rivera is correct. Almost all soy is GMO now, if it is not organic, and this can wreak havoc with your health. There are many, many reasons to avoid ordinary unfermented soy, and especially to avoid giving it to children.
Non-organic soy ruined my digestion, I still cannot eat foods which used to give me no problems. Every body is different, no one person will react in exactly the same manner as another to any trigger, so there is variation in how people react to soy, but I found out that even though I had no sensitivities or allergies to anything, I was someone who simply could not defend against the devastating effect of GMO technology (read: Bacillus Thuringesis) on my gut flora. My kidneys and liver are now under constant stress from it. Eating vegetarian organic has helped enormously.
What we need to understand is that people react differently, so what might be benign for one, is poisonous for another. We seem to believe in single triggers, but the situation is far more complex.
Then there is the dreadful irony of the decimation of the rain forests to plant soy for all the health nuts in North America.
I am a many year vegetarian. I have read that soy depresses the thyroid gland and raises estrogen levels. Sadly i believe soy can be healthy but
ONLY in fermented forms; Miso, Tempeh, Natto, Soy sauce. TOFU IS NOT FERMENTED, nor is soymilk or soy ice cream that soo many american consume
tons of. Wherever there is PROFIT, truth tends to suffer. Soy manufacturers care about their profits first, the truth, second.
Take a look at the CANOLA OIL INDUSTRY, can-ola is a hybrid of the
rape-seed plant, very toxic, yet they make their oils cheap so many manufacturers in the health food industry use can-ola oil. Canola oil
made cows sick and will make humans sick who keep consuming it.

Canola oil was first used as an industrial lubricant…..and now the FDA says it’s OK to eat Canola and soy products. But hey, don’t eat the natural animal fats and proteins because they are supposedly bad for you!
Instead, enjoy some of those delicious polyunsaturated vegetable oils that WILL clog up your arteries.
Bad science and the food industry have been sticking it to the American public for decades.
Try looking for Stevia in the sugar/sweetener section – you won’ find it listed as a sweetener or sugar substitute because of labeling laws enacted by who else – Monsanto the Aspartame manufacturer – which by the way, got its’ start as rat poison.
Oh, and that flouride in your water is just another poison OK’d by the FDA under the guise of dental health. We are dumb and getting dumber as a result of all these wonderful FDA approved products, but you CAN NOT HAVE A CHOICE WHEN IT COMES TO RAW MILK AVAILABILITY. FDA thugs will swoop down guns drawn if you produce and sell it in your coop. Just ask the Amish who were recently shut down for producing raw milk for their community consumption.
UN-Fermented soy has ALWAYS been very harmful. Today the overpowering health dictate is “Do Not Under Any Circumstances Eat GMO Anything” 95% of soy grown in the USA is GMO Soy. So if you decide to eat fermented soy please make sure it is organic.
